Week 9: Blog Activity #7

This week I will talk about an example of an organisation that has accidently or deliberately ‘misused’ social technology. This can be from an ethical, legal or strategic point of view and can be across either or both the internal and external organisational perspectives.

About (AMR)

American Medical Response (AMR) is an ambulance and medical services provider in United States. And it is the nation’s leading manager and provider of medical transportation. AMR provides emergency response and dispatch services, non-emergency transport services, air ambulance services, event medical services, managed transportation services and paramedic and EMT training. AMR is locally operated in 42 states and the District of Columbia.

As the nation’s largest private provider of medical transportation services, AMR offers opportunities for growth and advancement in a variety of career paths.

Outline the reported ‘misuse’ of social technology

The Company had to face a legal issue regarding its social media policy when a female employee of the company was fired because she posted angry and defamatory comments on Facebook about his immediate supervisor. She clearly violated the company’s policy regarding social media which prohibit the employees to avoid posting prejudiced, defamatory and disparaging comments when discussing the company, managers, colleagues or competitors over social media (Dail, 2014).

The matter may seems okay if we look at the policy but National Labor Relation Board (NLRB) filed a complaint against the company and according to NLRB the firing was illegal as it is the right of the employees to discuss their working conditions anywhere ant it doesn’t matter that they are doing so on a lunch table or on Facebook.

Worth

In order to avoid such issues, companies need to use the protective language, understand the employees’ rights and policy should be reviewed after each 2 years.

Under these organisational functions, the Macquarie Bank have social technologies for smooth operations. However, it can also embrace others for enhanced efficiency. The bank currently used applications including Mobile Apps and Sybase whereas potential social technologies include the Radian6.

The Sybase tool helps in integrating employees in working, hence promoting teamwork since the employees keep in touch with each other (Cassidy & Cassidy, 2010). The application of different social technologies as a web enterprise 2.0 has increased and developed different ways of seeking information and transforming products development. in this case, the MITRE Corporation has been one of the modern communication companies in the United States of America. Among the many operations and services, MITRE Corporation being a consultant in the social technologies, it has offered and elaborated different scenarios that have been applied in various segments of the State government and private sectors. Through their integration, the social technologies have been used in offering support features in different communication technologies and implementation of products development for various companies such as Department of Defense (DOD).
Therefore, as a solution for communication, the different sections of social technologies have been implemented in the modern technology and long range communication. Information processing has also been essential in supporting the establishment of information processing platforms and storage. The modern form of big data has been possible due to the management of different processes such as recording smaller fragments of information, data and other variable of transactions. For example, the source of big data is implemented from processing and operational systems; thus, through the application of social networks, wikis, blogs and other tagging applications, the web enterprise 2.0 has been used in developing  wide means of sharing information such as different products either in productions of under development.
It is therefore, important to apply social technologies, especially through the technological platform of operations managements such as in the company. These many different social technologies have inbuilt applications that increase and offer an efficient means of sharing, coordinating, directing and distribution of information such as through twitter or other social networks. Thus, the ability to support the increasing number of traffic to websites and information collection centers, established the magnitude of collection and support features for different social technologies and companies. Social Technology Beginners (Option 1 ) , Week 3: Blog Activity #2

Technological diversification the 21st century has brought around tremendous changes in the sector of social communication. In the modern trends, the world wide web or internet has developed a platform that seeks to support and administer the role of communication, sharing information in different formats and learning through various forms. As a result, technology has increased and offered a better and simpler way of sharing, connecting, communicating through video calls, taking and posting pictures among many other essentials associate with information dispersion especially during the learning process.

Social technology therefore; entails a lot of activities that try to connect and share the ideas and tools of web based platforms. These many tools are important in creating communication and information sharing centers such as blogs, twits and Facebook pages. There is the distinction between learning and having an experience in collaborating with different tools.

As for me, it is important and essential to point out that the many tools of social technology have introduced another positive was of social networking. The many tools that have been used and developed such as Blogs,Linkedin, Wikis, have inbuilt connectivity mechanisms that interlinks betweens these sites and tools. This is the common benefit we have gained from sharing information, updating pages, linking and tagging other aspects of the page. As part of the supporting web 2.0 features, the community and society has developed another aspect of accessibility and connectivity. These tools improve who sees shares and tags information from one site to another. Therefore, as much as they increase connectivity, flexibility, sharing and linking, they maintain security of personal and public information. Thus, social technology is diverse and has many more potentials that we are fully to discover in the modern technological platform applications.

An Intro to Blogging , Week 2: Blog Activity #1

Hi everyone :
Welcome for visiting my blog , actually this the first post for me and the first time to have blog in English language , I have one in Arabic from 4 years ago  , so I am interesting for have this one and  I am sure I will learned a lot of things in INN346  and  that will development my blog .

Introduction to blogs:
A blog is a website page that permits an individual or an organisation to easily and swiftly communicate with targeted people by sharing information and ideas. Blogs comprise dated-posts that are arranged in reverse sequential manner. On the blogs people have a chance and freedom to provide links to other blogs to photos and to fascinating sites.

Purpose of my blog :
The purpose of I utilising a blog is to create a platform to obtain and record ideas and generate new ideas. I am regularly gathering images, links to different sites and images and thoughts of which majority are never posted on other blogs. I review the collected ideas throughout the week scrubbing some out while integrating others into new ideas. Also, I spent some time preparing an editorial calendar.

Procedure for creating constructive posts:
To create useful posts you first have to revisit your archive and identify the relevant content. Second, search for the successful posts from your previous posts and condense them into a single blog incorporating resources that are handy to your readers. Combining previously successful posts into one post permits readers to familiarise themselves with the best aspects of your blogging without reading extensively of your work. Also, the condensing process presents you with an opportunity to develop a new post.

My strategies for obtaining readership :

*Using other bloggers’ lists
Several other bloggers have experienced same creative crisis and have successfully manoeuvred through it. The options they utilised are available. Utilise such alternatives to attract readers.
*Using social media (Pinterest, twitter and facebook)
Social media offer a stage for the public to post and discuss currently trending topics. For instance, topics of high interest are posted on facebook and twitter sites. Using hash tags easily identifies such topic. Thus, blogging on such topics tend to attract more readers.
    *Using blogging resources
Online resources related to blogging issues are easily accessible, for example, the “bloggers’ block.” The resources contain advices from excellent bloggers on different subjects. Adhering to the advice highlighted provides excellent guidance to restore you back on course within no time.
Finally :
